1. “If only you could see what I see" by Eugenia Loli.

This is a very old collage of mine, one of my very first. Sci-fi is in my thoughts again though. I entered the art world through filmmaking in 2007, and it continued being on the back of my mind even after I switched to illustration.

So, I’m thinking of writing a TV show proposal. It’s a “hard science fiction” idea, with a twist. Instead of a single series, it’s actually 3 series, that each complete each other. To tell the story, we’d need 3 seasons, with 8 episodes per season for each series (overall, 72 episodes). Since some of the sets, cast & crew would be shared, financially it should be like 2.5 series are produced, and not 3.

The year is 2165.

- The first series is taking place on Earth and its orbiting space station. Under the guise of saving the planet from climate change and overpopulation, a New World Order and a police state world regime has been established. But an underground group is working on a new device that could bring the next major [r]evolution, and change humanity forever.

- The second series takes place on the Moon’s main mining colony, and a freighter. Androids are the slaves of the time, but when operatives from the same underground group from Earth hooks them in to that new device, things take a major turn.

- The third series is taking place on Mars and Io. The majority of Mars colonies want their independence from Earth, so civil war soon ensues. In the meantime, at the furthest point that humans have reached, on the moon of Io, the orbiting spaceship will make a stunning new discovery.

All three series are taking place on the same month and the events can be tracked on a day-by-day basis. A major theme of the series is to show how a decision that makes absolute political or social sense for the people of one of the series, can have devastated effects to the people of the other series. There are no classic, stereotypical evil characters in the show. There are only points of view.

Since these series wouldn’t be broadcasted at the same time, we would be watching, let’s say, days 1-8 on the one series, and then we would be watching again days 1-8 for the next series. So for example, if on the Earth series we learn that one Mars chief blew out his whole colony without much explanation, this creates an interesting mystery to the viewer that won’t be answered until the Mars series goes live and will explain why such a drastic measure had to happen.

But ultimately, the story-lines are intertwined, and what happens at the end can seal the fate of the human race.

At this point, all this is just an idea in my head, but let’s hope that studios will be interested in it.
